What is COSP?
Circle of Security Parenting™ (COSP) is an internationally recognized, evidence-based parenting program grounded in decades of attachment research. Designed as an 8-week course, COSP helps caregivers strengthen their relationships with children by offering practical tools to better understand and respond to their child’s emotional needs.
At the heart of COSP is the idea that children thrive when they feel secure. The program teaches caregivers how to become a reliable “secure base” from which children can confidently explore the world with a safe haven to which they can return for comfort and connection. COSP helps parents see the meaning behind behaviors, offering a new lens through which to understand and support their child’s development.
What You’ll Gain from the Program:
- A clearer understanding of your child’s needs: COSP helps you recognize what your child is communicating through their behavior, especially during challenging moments.
- A stronger emotional bond: Learn how to be more emotionally present and responsive, creating a deeper, more secure connection with your child.
- Increased parenting confidence: COSP equips you with strategies to respond to everyday struggles with greater calm, empathy, and effectiveness.
- A more peaceful home environment: As your relationship with your child strengthens, emotional tension tends to ease, leading to more harmony and less conflict.
- Long-term benefits for your child: Secure attachment supports healthier relationships, improved emotional regulation, greater resilience, and higher self-esteem throughout life.
COSP is designed for all caregivers. Whether you're seeking new tools, navigating difficult behaviors, or simply want to grow as a caregiver, COSP offers a supportive and nonjudgmental space to learn and reflect.
